Winter and my curly hair have not always been besties, but I have figured out a three part peace offering for the two to get along. The three greatest tools in my curly hair arsenal during the winter season include three key players. 1. A weekly rock solid Deep conditioner, 2. a biweekly- monthly hot oil treatment, and 3. a whipped shea butter to seal the curls and make them shine, pop and sing!
Today we will making the DIY Deep conditioner for winter proof curls.
This recipe came to me with research of what oils work best for my hair and knowledge of what natural ingredients have the highest impact and result on my 4B/ 4C hair type.
The recipe is super simple:
1/2C. Refrigerated coconut cream from coconut milk
2 Tbsp. Honey
2 Tbsp. Plain greek yogurt
3 Tbsp. Olive oil
6 Drops of peppermint oil
*(optional) 4 vitamine E capsules
Results: Super soft shiny clumped curls. My hair felt stronger and hydrated. The left over conditioner can be stored in an air tight container and refrigerated for 2-4 weeks before expiring.
