I was running low on my last batch of my standard whipped shea butter!
The standard formula has been altered to consider the “cold weather dry curly hair syndrome” that happens every December through February. This Winter Whipped Shea Butter is excellent to seal your curls and your skin; it doubles as a great body butter.
So the recipe is really simple and you can use whatever oils your hair desires. I have tried several oils and have noticed a great response from olive oil and castor oil to seal my curls and make them snap, crackle and pop! You will be overjoyed with the results if you have 4B/4C hair.
1 C. Shea Butter
1/2 C. Castor Oil
1/4 C. Olive Oil
1/4 C. Almond Oil
10-15 Drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil
Place all oils in a glass bowl. Microwave the oils in short bursts or use the double boiler method on the stove top. Once all oils are melted add the Tea Tree Essential Oil to the oil mixture and refrigerate for 1 hour. Once oil has become dense and opaque use a blender or whisk to mix the shea butter blend until it is a whipped creamy consistency. Store the Winter Whipped Shea Butter in an air tight container, it has a shelf life of 1 year.
