3 Minute Raw Applesauce Recipe (Small Batch)

I love baking with applesauce. My little’s love eating applesauce and having it packed it in their lunch bags.

I stumbled on this quick recipe for making raw applesauce. I was planning on baking breakfast cookies and realized I was missing applesauce from the ingredient list. I thought about running to the store or postponing the breakfast cookie plan. I realized I had some apples in the pantry. Then I wondered…how hard is it to make applesauce from scratch.

The recipes I found generally were for large batches and required canning. So then I thought about it… applesauce is pretty much just pureed apples with sugar and lemon juice. I think my blender can tackle that in a few minutes.

The trial testing began and success was rather easy.

For this recipe, I used my Ninja Blender. I found this blender almost 5 years ago and still swear by it for all things blender.



2 Medium Apples

2 Tbs. Coconut Sugar (or sweetener of your preference)

1 Tsp. Lemon Juice (or lime)

1/2 Tsp. Cinnamon

1/2 Tsp. Nutmeg (optional)

1/8 C. Water



Wash and core the apples. Place all ingredients in the blender. Blend for 1 minute to determine the consistency you prefer. This recipe makes around 1 cup of raw applesauce.

You can double and triple the recipe if you would like to can your raw applesauce. My family never makes it more than a few days before it’s gone!
