3 DIY Ideas for Father’s Day: Ft. Dollar Store Supplies #DGIJ D15

Welcome to day 15 of Daily Glory In June, #DGIJ. Today I wanted to share three easy DIY ideas using Dollar Store supplies. I love the way everything turned out. To make it the easiest, follow the video linked below for the step by step process to create these DIY’s. I love making special gifts for my friends and family. I think they appreciate them, but I feel like when I make gifts by hand I am delivering some of my positive energy and heart via the crafts I create. I love to make things for others, it’s been 10+ years since I have been shopping for gifts. I like it this way. Plus I don’t like shopping in stores when I don’t have to. So far, so good! Houndstooth Classic Fall/ Winter Skirt DIY (Beginner Sewing)

Baby, it is cold outside and I don’t have very many work clothes that are great for every day. The goal is to feel chic, cozy and professional for my internship. One item that comes to mind is a classic houndstooth wool pencil skirt. Looking online, I found White House Black Market has a version of this that has sold out! This is my new favorite item and I have already worn and styled this beauty 3x in one week! I’m obsessed. It feels like butter against my legs, and I feel like stylish Queen wearing this creation with black booties and a long sleeve. I found my fabric at the mighty Joann Fabrics and Crafts store. It only took 20 minutes to make. I used 1 yard and had enough fabric left over to make a headband, key fob and perhaps an infinity scarf (haven’t actually completed that yet). If you make this skirt please let me know how you style it. More ideas are welcome.
